Why the name “Chryzalid”?
Under the right conditions – which is what our association aims to bring about – the prisoner can undergo a transformation similar to that of the butterfly. From the caterpillar (the offence stage) through the chryzalis (the prison journey with awareness-raising, vocational training, etc.) to the butterfly (successful reintegration and life change).
